Stormwater Utility Set Up and Implementation

Stormwater / Senior Environmental Program Manager, Port of Seattle, Seattle, WA.  2004 to Present

I led the Port of Seattle’s efforts to set up its Stormwater Utility since it became a concept approach.  A stormwater utility is a financial mechanism that allows the Port of Seattle collect stormwater fees from its properties and reinvest this money into stormwater infrastructure and associated stormwater programs.  Stormwater costs have risen dramatically in the last five years and this urgently needed money will help the Port meet its stormwater needs and requirements.

In 2016, the Port will begin assessment of the Port’s stormwater system, collection of the data associated with the assessment and finally prioritization of system rehab needs.

You can read the Port’s resolution for its Stormwater Utility here: Resolution No. 3696
